A Week of Energy & Momentum Across Kane County

This past week on the campaign trail has been a meaningful one. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with residents across Kane County, hear their perspectives, and feel the growing support from communities throughout our county. Moments like these remind me why I chose to step forward and run for Kane County Sheriff.

Casting My Early Vote

One of the most humbling moments of the week came on March 5 when I had the opportunity to cast my early vote as I continue this journey toward becoming your next Kane County Sheriff. After more than two decades of serving this county, beginning as an intern, then as a civilian employee Evidence Custodian, deputy, detective, field training officer, officer in charge, Major Crimes Supervisor, accident reconstruction investigator, Crime Scene Investigator, Recruiter, Senior Services Officer, Chief of Staff and now Undersheriff. That moment carried a lot of meaning for me.

It represents more than just a campaign. It reflects a lifetime of service, dedication, and commitment to the people and communities of Kane County that I’ve had the privilege to serve. Early voting is an important part of our democratic process, and I encourage everyone to make a plan to vote and have their voice heard.

Celebrating Kane County’s Finest

Another meaningful moment this week was attending the Kane County Chiefs of Police Officer of the Year Award ceremony. It was truly an honor to be in the room as we recognized the extraordinary service and dedication of law enforcement professionals from across Kane County.

Events like this serve as a reminder of the incredible work that officers do every day to protect our communities. The professionalism, courage, and compassion demonstrated by these award recipients reflect the very best of public service and are a testament to the strength of law enforcement throughout our county.

Congratulations to all of the officers who were recognized. I was grateful for the opportunity to listen to their stories and hear about the accomplishments that led to this well-deserved recognition. Moments like these remind us how fortunate we are to have so many dedicated professionals serving the people of Kane County.

Supporting Children Through CASA

I also had the honor of attending the CASA 32nd Annual Children’s Champion Celebration Gala: Light Their Way. This event was a powerful reminder of the incredible work being done to support children in the foster care system and the importance of standing behind the volunteers who advocate for them.

As a CASA Board Member, it was especially meaningful to see so many people come together in support of Court Appointed Special Advocates who dedicate their time and voices to ensuring vulnerable children have someone looking out for their best interests in court.

CASA volunteers truly change lives. Their commitment to protecting, uplifting, and advocating for children experiencing foster care is inspiring, and it was an honor to be surrounded by individuals who share such a deep dedication to the well-being of the youngest members of our community.

Truman Dinner and Civic Engagement

Another highlight of the week was attending the Kane County Democrats Truman Dinner, where so many dedicated community leaders, elected officials, and volunteers came together to celebrate civic engagement and public service.

Events like the Truman Dinner remind us how important it is for people to stay involved, ask questions, and work together to build stronger communities.

Congratulations again to each of the officers recognized for their outstanding service and dedication.

Community Events and Conversations

This week also included several opportunities to connect with residents and community leaders. From attending local events to participating in community discussions, these moments are incredibly valuable. Listening to the concerns, ideas, and hopes of our residents helps guide the future of public safety in our county.

One of the highlights was the Thom McNamee Memorial Dundee St. Patrick's Day Parade, where the energy of the community was on full display. Events like these remind us how strong our communities are when we come together.

Grateful for Our Volunteers

Campaigns are powered by people who believe in the mission, and I am incredibly thankful for the volunteers who continue to give their time and energy to help move this campaign forward. Whether they are knocking on doors, helping at events, making calls, or spreading the word online, their dedication is inspiring. We are getting closer every day, and their support reminds me that this campaign is truly about the people of Kane County.

Looking Ahead

As we move closer to the Primary Election, I remain focused on the issues that matter most to our community:

  • Strengthening partnerships with our communities

  • Supporting deputies with training and resources

  • Expanding mental health and victim support services

  • Using technology and innovation to improve investigations and response

  • Ensuring transparency and accountability in public safety

Kane County deserves experienced, forward-thinking leadership that understands both the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this campaign and to those who take the time to engage in conversations about the future of public safety.

Together, we will continue Moving Public Safety Forward.
